Who are we?
SSSL is a volunteer organization dedicated to building, maintaining, and developing trails in and around the forests of Silkeborg. We work closely with the Danish Nature Agency, Silkeborg Municipality, and local outdoor communities to create sustainable, high-quality trails for everyone.

Sustainable tracks
We build and maintain trails with respect for the forest ecosystem. Nature comes first – our trails are created with minimal impact and long-lasting solutions.
Cooperation and responsibility
We work closely with forest owners and authorities to ensure trails that both provide good experiences and protect the forest. We believe in open dialogue and responsible access to nature.
Volunteering with a purpose
All our work is driven by volunteers. We share a passion for nature and mountain biking, and we put our heart into every meter of trail.
Nordskoven
The MTB trail in Nordskoven was originally established in 2011 and has since been continuously renovated and redeveloped to ensure optimal conditions for all users. With the establishment of the Silkeborg Sti- & Sporbyggerlaug in 2014, responsibility for the maintenance and development of the trail was transferred to a voluntary effort – borne by the users themselves. This contributes to preserving and improving the trail so that it can continue to be enjoyed by both current and future generations of outdoor enthusiasts.
Vesterskoven
The trail in Vesterskoven is unique, as it winds through an area characterized by Denmark's largest field systems from the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age (approx. 700 BC-200 AD). To ensure an authentic and respectful integration of these historical elements, the trail has been developed in close collaboration with Silkeborg Museum, making the experience both culturally and recreationally enriching.
